Wendy Barton, 74, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away suddenly Monday, May 20, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Burial will take place at a later date in Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Wendy was born October 24, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William “Bill” and Antoinette “Babe” (Kurka) Fisher. She graduated from Jefferson High School and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College. Wendy was united in marriage to Robert Lucke; the couple later divorced. She then married Harold Barton. She worked for Rockwell Collins, a local sewing shop on 3rd Avenue in downtown Cedar Rapids, Merchant National Bank, GE Capital, To The Rescue, and Superior Care. Wendy was a member of Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, Sanctuary Church, and Springs of Life Church. Her faith was important to her and she took many mission trips to India. She enjoyed raising rabbits and collecting rabbit and horse figurines.
Survivors include her son, Bryan (Tonya) Lucke; two grandchildren, Connor and Kathryn; brother, Larry (Pat) Fisher of Cedar Rapids; and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Lucke of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Antoinette “Babe” Fisher; and son, Jon Lucke.
