Wells, Joan
Joan Wells, 68, of Monticello, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at her home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Surviving are four children, Lori Mysak, Brenda (Todd) Aldrich, Chad (Marian) Paulsen, all of Monticello, and David (Lisa Hill) Paulsen of Cedar Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Loehr of Lisbon, and Emma Wenzel of Cedar Rapids; and four brothers, Henry, Charles and Francis Mysak, all of Springville, and Everett Mysak of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary O'Brien; and two brothers, Raymond and Donald.
Joan Marie Mysak was born August 24, 1942, at Springville, Iowa. She was the daughter of Joseph and Lola Scroggins Mysak. She received her education in the Springville schools. Joan worked at Sheller Globe in Iowa City for several years. She lived in the Monticello and Anamosa most of her adult life. Joan married Merlin Paulsen in 1965. The couple divorced in 1970. In 1989, she married Melvin Wells.
