Weitnauer, Patty
Patty Weitnauer, 73, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at her home following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 15, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Dan Clark-Bridges will officiate at the services.

Surviving are her son, Doug (Beverly) Weitnauer; three grandchildren, Trevor, Cameron and Jessica; and a sister, Sue Connell, Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; a grandson, Cory; and her twin sister, Carroll McDonough.
Patty Smith was born May 14, 1936, in Buchanan County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Otto and Dell Hotchkiss Smith. Patty received her education in the Monticello Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1955. Patty Smith and William C. Weitnauer were married March 14, 1959, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Monticello. The couple lived in Norfolk, Va., while Bill was in service. They returned to Monticello in 1962 and Patty worked as a secretary at Monticello Community Schools. In more recent years she had been employed at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the dietary department. William preceded her in death on May 7, 2002. Patty was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
