Wehr, Peter Paul
Peter Paul Wehr, 92, of Sigourney, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Winifred; nine children, Marilyn (Allen) Platner of Marion, Don (Shirley) Wehr of Davenport, Dolores (Ken) Robertson of Gilbert, Ariz., Jerome (Soraya) Wehr of Grinnell, Vivian (Tom) Winkler of Indianola, Martha (Frank) Puckett of Zachary, La., Michael (Joy) Wehr of Sigourney, Denis (Lisa) Wehr of Moline, Ill. and Diana (Brian) Steiner of Marshalltown; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Cecilia Herman of Sigourney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Marvin; great-grandson, Zachary Platner; four brothers, Frank, Walter, Ambrose and Matthias; and one sister, Catherine.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, with the Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in honor of Paul has been established.
Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Paul and his family.
