Webster, Helen L.
Helen L. Webster, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died in the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009. Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Dave Doyle. Visitation: noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday before the service at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son, Tom (Janet) Webster of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Renee (Michael) Gunder of Onslow; four grandchildren, Danielle Webster, Richard Knight, Randal Knight and Robyne Bartlett; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Hazel Moren of Leon, Iowa.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; sisters, Pauline Cain and Mabel Hewlett; and brothers, Dale Burchett, Clarence Burchett and Harold Burchett.
Born July 12, 1920, in Grand River, Iowa, Helen was the daughter of George and Libbie (Monroe) Burchett. On Aug. 10, 1941, she was united in marriage to Ralph Webster. He died Feb. 16, 1992. She worked for Collins Radio for seven years.
Helen liked bowling and was the secretary for many leagues. She was a Cubs fan and enjoyed Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football.
