Weberg, Jon H.
Jon H. Weberg, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a short illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids by Pastor Craig Brown. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Jon is survived by his wife, Joan; four children, Dana (James) Clark, Holly (Mark) Allen, Brian (Lynette) Weberg and Brooke Weberg, all of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Derek, Jacob, Alex, Zachery, Lexie, Taylor and Brenden; two great-grandchildren, Maceo and Trinity, and one great-grandchild on the way in January; a brother, Don (Bonnie) Weberg of Inwood, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers.
Jon Holland Weberg was born Oct. 30, 1939, in Inwood, Iowa, the son of Palmer Roosevelt and Gladys Irene Holland Weberg. He married Joan Johnson on June 17, 1959, in Chester, S.D. He was a member of Chauffeurs and Teamsters Local 238 and worked for Roadway Express for 28 years.
Jon and Joan also lived in Lake Madison, S.D., for six years. Jon loved to golf, fish, and was an avid Hawkeye fan. He liked photography, gardening, woodworking and carving and was a talented stained glass artist. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Jon's name.
