Weber, Susan
Susan Weber, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where the visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Susan was born in Washington, Iowa, on Aug. 25, 1936, to Laura and James E. Hoskins.
After the premature death of her mother, an aunt and uncle, Ada and Fred Snider helped nurture and care for her and her sister. She attended Packwood Consolidated School and graduated in 1953. Following graduation from I.S.T.C. (now UNI) she taught vocational home economics in Sigourney for two years. She retired in 1997 from the Cedar Rapids Community School District, where she taught family and consumer science for 28 years.
On June 3, 1961, she and L. Duane Weber were married at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors, besides her husband, are two sons, Alan Weber of Richmond, Va., and Loren (Deanna) Weber of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters, Kara and Anna Weber; a sister, Dorothy Foster of Grand Island, Neb.; a niece, Linda Foster; and a nephew, Brad (Michelle) and their daughter, Jennifer.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her aunt and uncle; and brothers-in-law, James S. Foster and Franklin
Weber.
