Weaver, Thomas J.
Thomas J. Weaver, 55, lost his battle with metastatic melanoma in his home on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010. A celebration of the life Tom loved - boating, riding his Harleys and traveling to the Caribbean - will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, Cedar Rapids.
Tom was a strong, quiet man who took great pride in everything he did from his home to his work. But he was gentle and kind at the same time. He worked for Midwest Glazing since September 1999 installing commercial windows and doors, after working several years at Walford Feed and Grain.
Born on Oct. 6, 1954, at Travis AFB in California. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sindy; parents, William and Catherine (Fisher) Weaver of Kissimmee, Fla.; daughter, Cher (Kurt) Stephenson of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Cody Weaver-Rawson of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Cathie (Nick) Poindexter of Lancaster, Calif., and Jennifer Bucken of Orlando, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Fairfax Savings Bank.
