Weaver, Berneta Mae
Berneta Mae Weaver, 90, of Marion, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion, by Elder Lowell Knight. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and also one hour before the service. Burial: Forest Chapel Cemetery, Morley.
Survivors include two sons, Darrel (Rose) Weaver of Central City and Everett (Kay) Weaver of Marion; three daughters, Deloris Webber of Cedar Rapids, Helen Taylor of Marion and Esther Graham of Alburnett; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.
Berneta was born June 21, 1920, in Keystone, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Hattie (Carver) Haines. On Sept. 23, 1939, she married Leland Weaver in Marion. She was a homemaker and active member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Pioneer Avenue congregation.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Diana Goldsworth; five brothers, Robert, Donald, Howard, Richard and Kenneth Haines; sister, Margaret Haines; great-granddaughter, Ashley; and three sons-in-law, Phillip Webber, William “Jerry” Taylor and Don Graham.
A memorial fund has been established.
