Wayne C. Vavrichek, 67, of Seattle, Wash., died suddenly Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014.
Wayne was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Nov. 28, 1946. After graduating from Jefferson High School, Northwestern University and law school at the University of Iowa, he moved to the Northwest and worked as an attorney in Seattle his entire career.
He was a devoted husband, father and friend to many who loved him.
He enjoyed the outdoors and through most of his life was a competitive runner. After retirement, he continued to swim daily and enjoyed long walks with his dog, Lucy.
Survivors include his wife, Marti Vavrichek; son, David (Emily) of New York, N.Y.; son, Michael of San Jose, Calif.; brother, Bruce (Sherrie) of Silver Springs, Md.; sister, Gayle (Roger) Klouda of Iowa City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Clare Vavrichek.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seattle Humane Society.
