Wayne Charles Krumbholz, 89, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, after a short illness. A visitation will be held at St. Jude's Catholic Church starting at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will also be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his children, Karl Krumbholz, Michele Frett and Tracy Krumbholz; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Van Cleve, Louise Larson and Kathy Maloney; and brothers-in-law, Jim Kane and Tom (Diane) Maloney.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Normalea; parents, Otto and Maude Krumbholz; son, Scott Krumbholz; daughter, Teresa Krumbholz; daughter-in- law, Vanessa Krumbholz; brothers, Kenneth (Josephine) Krumbholz and Dale (Janet) Krumbholz; sisters, Barbara (Gordon) Jones and Aileen (Al) Neyens; parents-in-law, Elwood and Velma (Hasley) Maloney; brothers-in-law, Loras (Arlene) Maloney, Bud (Flo) Maloney, Art Van Cleve and Ray Larson; and sister-in-law, Shirley Kane.

Wayne was born on April 21, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Otto and Maude (Kane) Krumbholz. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1950 and married Normalea Ann Maloney on Nov. 15, 1951, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

Wayne retired from Rockwell International after 38 years of service. He was a Charter member of St. Jude Church and served on a team of 12 men who went door to door to recruit new parish members. He was a 3rd and 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Branch 909. Honorary member of the Marine Corp League and a member of the Elks since 1951.

Wayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be fondly remembered for his caring attitude and ability to light up the room with his great sense of humor. He enjoyed bowling, fishing in Colorado, trips to the casino and was a lifetime fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest joy was to gather with friends and family. Wayne will be forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.
