Wayne A. Simnacher, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at his home in Vinton.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.
Wayne was born on July 9, 1937, in rural Benton County, the son of Ferdinand "Fred" and Violet (Ness) Simnacher. He graduated in the first class of Washington High School in 1955. On June 12, 1963, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Ellen Jabens, in Garrison.

He was a gifted mechanic and was able to make anything run again. Through the years, Wayne had many car restoration projects with his sons, and wife Mary handling the interiors. He was especially proud of his '36 coupe.
He is survived by his sons, Dwayne Simnacher and David Simnacher, both of Vinton; and his nephews, Paul Jabens, Dan Jabens and Kurt Kerkman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Mary on Dec. 14; and his brother, John F. Simnacher.
