Wava Jean Willett, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, May 10, 2015, in her home. As per Wava's request private family services will be held. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Wava was born Feb. 21, 1939, in South Haven, Mich., the daughter of Carl and Faye (Bard) Soristo. She attended South Haven High School. Wava was united in marriage to Les Willett on Oct. 2, 1954, in South Haven.
Wava is survived by her husband of over 61 years, Les; sons, Steven Willett of Marion and Edward Willett of Lisbon; daughters, Chery (Patrick) O'Conner of Independence and Teresa Willett of St. Joseph, Mich.; grandchildren, Candice Wisdo, Kristin Sherrets, Ashley Walthart, Lucas Wise, Lindsey Henderson and Garrison Willett; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Soristo Jr. of South Haven, Mich.; and sisters, Carolyn Brinks of South Haven, Mich., and Patricia Koch of Auburn, Mich.
Wava was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alice Casselman and Donna Burrows; and a brother, Billy Soristo.
