Wava Nollsch, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Feb. 13, 2014, at Cottage Grove Place. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 16, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wava was born Aug. 19, 1921, to John and Lottie (McKean) Adams in Sidney, Iowa. Wava worked as a secretary at St. Paul's United Methodist Church from 1962 until her retirement in 1986.
Wava married Ben Nollsch on Oct. 6, 1943, in San Diego, Calif.
Wava is survived by her daughters, Meridy (Richard) Amsden of Apple Valley, Minn., Jo Ellen (Stephen) Vardeman of Ames and Susan Nollsch of Burlington; son, John (Melanie) Nollsch of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Micah (Alex) Vardeman, Andrew (Emily) Vardeman, Denise (Ryan) Kokemuller, Jennifer and Kristin Amsden and Jamin (Jill) and Adam Nollsch; six great-grandchildren, Ashley and Amber Kokemuller, Hannah, Josiah and Sophia Vardeman and Tomas Hernandez-Mowen.
Wava was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ben.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
