Watkinson, Harley Lee
Harley Lee Watkinson, 66, of Keystone, formerly of Lisbon, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, from a brief illness. Services 1 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Surviving Harley are his wife of 15 years, Terri; a daughter, Deborah Watkinson of Mount Pleasant; a son, Chad (Mary) Watkinson of Burlington; two stepdaughters, Jessica (John) Fahey of Anamosa and Carolyn Kula of California; three sisters, Penny (Larry) Eckrich of Cosgrove, Linda (Dave) Ravenhorst and Janet (Phil) Larsen, both of Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Harley in death were his parents; a son, Alex; and two grandchildren.
Harley was born July 10, 1943, in Iowa City, the son of Harley and Edith Petrikin Watkinson. He married Terri Siebels at the Little Brown Church in Nashua in 1994. Harley worked construction and did cement work in his early years and worked in the maintenance department at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, retiring after 25 years.
Harley had a passion for owning and detailing vehicles: cars, trucks, and motorcycles; and enjoyed fishing and playing cards. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harley's honor has been established.
