Wassmer, Warren Lee
Warren Lee Wassmer of Ely was taken by the Angels and entered the gates to his Father's house at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010.
He was born Jan. 31, 1937, to Edrie M. (Price) Wassmer and Charley E. Wassmer. Warren married his soul mate, Joan Eileen Boots, on June 19, 1960, in the First United Methodist Church in Marion, where they were both members.
They have two children, Webb Lee (Jolene) Wassmer of Marion and Warreena Lucille Wassmer Winkowski of Cedar Rapids; and five grandchildren, Jessica Winkowski and Michael Winkowski, both of Cedar Rapids, and Kaden, Kylie and Briella Wassmer, all of Marion. He is survived by one brother, David E. (Mary) Wassmer of Phoenix, Ariz.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and also one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
Warren was preceded in death by three babies and his parents.
Warren was a Christian and loved his Lord.
In accordance with his wishes there will not be any services. Warren will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered.
He will be forever loved and missed by his wife and family.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church of Marion or the American Cancer Society.
Some of Warren's last words were “God Bless America.”
