Warren Roger Spickermann, 77, of Bennett, died peacefully late Monday evening, Sept. 15, 2014, in the Mechanics-ville Nursing & Rehab Center, Mechanicsville. He passed away comfortably with his family at his side. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Fry Funeral Home, with a brief funeral service immediately following at 7 p.m. with the Rev. David Mears officiating. The immediate family will hold a private burial at a later date.

Warren was born on Dec. 1, 1936, in Davenport, Iowa, and was the son of Henry and Leonora Greve Spickermann. He was a graduate of Bennett High School. On June 23, 1956, he was united in marriage to Barbara L. Steen. He was a farmer and a factory worker all of his life. He enjoyed bowling, bingo and loved visiting with family and friends.

Warren is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Maurice) Veurink of West Jordan, Utah; and son, Mark (Pamela) Spickermann of Mechanicsville; sister, Rose Marie Wright of Bennett; brother, Allen (Barb) Spickermann of Tipton; and five grandchildren, Garrett (Andrea), Dalton and Hailey Veurink and Shane and Aaron and fiancee Jenae Kopf Spickermann.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50-plus years; and his sons, Michael Spickermann and Mitchell Spickermann.

A memorial fund has been established for the Clarence Ambulance, Bennett Ambulance and Tipton Meals on Wheels or charity of choice.
