Warford, Natalie Meade
Natalie Meade Warford died Jan. 9, 2013, in Scottsdale, Ariz., after a short illness.
She was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Edmund Meade and Mary Rozek Meade. After graduating from Wilson High School in 1944, she went to art school in California. In 1945, she married Jack Warford. They spent most of their lives in California and retired to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Natalie researched rare and new orchid varieties with two Harvard professors in Mexico and Venezuela and received several prestigious honors. She also had a wholesale orchid business. Her husband died in 1991 and a few years later she moved to Scottsdale, Ariz.
She is survived by cousins, Rosemary and Lorin Meade of Geneseo, Ill., and Richard and Sharon Meade of Cosgrove; a special friend, Dick Truesdell; and many other relatives and friends in Iowa and Arizona.
Her parents and son, Jack Warford Jr., preceded her in death.
