Wardenburg, Verlyn Lee 'Verly'
Verlyn Lee “Verly” Wardenburg, 75, of Williamsburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo. Burial: Genoa Bluff Cemetery, rural Ladora. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
Memorials may be contributed to the American Lung Association, Iowa City Hospice or the American Heart Association.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; nine children, Lori Fennig (Tony) of Tigard, Ore., Curt Wardenburg (Chris) of South Amana, Kristi Von Ahsen (Michael) of Williamsburg, Deb Wardenburg of Williamsburg, Rick Wardenburg (Jessica) of Williamsburg, David Wardenburg of Williamsburg, Kim Pope (Garry) of Conroy, Matt Wardenburg of Williamsburg and Shelly Welsh (Sean) of Williamsburg; and eight grandchildren, Lance and Ethan Von Ahsen, Kenady and Madison Wardenburg, Carson and Zane Pope and Eli and Caleb Welsh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Elsie (Sims) Wardenburg; a brother, Jim; and a grandson, Hunter Wardenburg.
