Ward Harold Wehrman was born Feb. 21, 1967, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Henry “Hank” Wehrman and Frances “Casey” Burks. He died at home, Nov. 3, 2023, in Des Moines, Iowa, at age 56.
Ward attended high school in Newton and graduated from Kirkwood Community College as a certified waste water treatment operator. He worked for Square D in Columbia, Mo., and Iowa Quality Beef in Tama, Iowa. He had lived in Norwoodville since 2015.
Ward enjoyed his guitars, chainsaws, lawnmowers, cars and motorcycles. He was a Harley man who loved to ride.
He is survived by his beloved cat, Muncher. Also, his parents, Hank and Cathy Wehrman and Casey Burks; sister, Wendy (Ray) Ringgenberg; nieces and nephews, Frances (Pete) Burke, Jackson (Teri) Ringgenberg, Winter (Christopher) Heintz; aunts Christine “Tina” Wehrman and Jacqueline “Jackie” Vandivier; stepsister, Lynette Burks; and stepbrother, Tad Burks. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Harold and Leone Wehrman and Frank and Frankie Decker; aunt, Caroline Krafka, stepfather, Jim Burks; stepsister, Lori Jamison; and stepbrother, Chris Strovers.
Memorial services will be held at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service in Belle Plaine, Iowa, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, with inurnment immediately following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.
