Wangsness, Thomas (Tom) Robert
Thomas (Tom) Robert Wangsness, 25, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wesley Bruss will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Calmar Community Cemetery, Calmar, Iowa.
Surviving are his parents, Robert and Mary Wangsness; his sister, Danielle Wangsness and husband Ryan Beck all of Cedar Rapids; his grandparents, Howard and Verna Wangsness of rural Decorah; his nephews, Nolan Wangsness, Cade Beck and Harper Beck, all of Cedar Rapids; aunts and uncles, Julie Schneider and husband Ted of Eagan, Minn., Sue Seitz and husband John of Vonore, Tenn., Don Luettjohann and wife Linda of Hiawatha; and his cousins, Rob Luettjohann and wife Laura of West Valley City, Utah, Laura Alger of Cedar Rapids, and Bill Seitz of Miami, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Neil and Margaret Luettjohann.
Thomas Robert Wangsness was born August 6, 1985, in Cedar Rapids, the beloved son of Robert J. and Mary M. (Luettjohann) Wangsness. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School in 2004, where he was involved with football and basketball. He was employed at Acterra Group in the accounting department. He enjoyed Frisbee golf, watching football, playing golf and above all time spent with family and friends.
Tom will be forever remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and for always having a giving heart.
A memorial fund has been established.
