Wanda Elaine Valley, 89, of Brandon, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 18, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Cedar
Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, officiated by Certified Staff Celebrant Julie Freese. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Wanda was born Jan. 9, 1926, in Mantorville, Minn., to Everett and Eva (Eckhardt) Lloyd. After graduating from Muscatine High School, she was united in marriage to Robert O. Valley on May 14, 1946, in Muscatine, Iowa.
Wanda worked in food service for the Cedar Rapids Community Schools while her children were in school. She was a round dance teacher with her husband, Robert, for 35 years and was an avid square dancer.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Twirlin' Travelers Camping Club.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 69 years, Robert of Brandon; three sons, Douglas (Deanna) of Stillwater, Okla., Gregory (Janice) of Jasper, Ga., and Thomas (Julie) of Brandon; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Lettie Bellinger, Laura Ferencik, Florence Hoskins and Iris Williams; and one brother, Milo Lloyd.
