Wanda R. Kile, 74, of Marion, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion, officiated by the Rev. Gregory R. Williamson. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wanda was born Jan. 13, 1940, in Turkey River, Iowa, to Hershal H. and Alma C. (Wiederrich) Washburn. She was united in marriage to Gary G. Kile on Dec. 9, 1961, in McGregor, Iowa. She was employed as a laundry tech with the Linn-Mar Community School District until her retirement in 2007.
Wanda is survived by two children, Craig A. Kile and wife Stacey of Solon and Dawn M. Kile and significant other Robert Boer of Marion; five granddaughters, Satin Kile and significant other Ashley Brooks of Cedar Rapids, Amber Brown of Cedar Rapids, Haley Birch of Solon, Jessica Birch of Solon and Sarah Boer of Marion; sister, Ileen Secor and husband Jim of West Memphis, Ark.; brother, Charles Washburn and wife Martha of Johnson City, Tenn.; as well as sisters-in-law, Jackie Washburn of Denver, Colo., and Barb Kile of Fremont, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Kile, in 2012; her parents; brother, Dean Washburn; and sister, Delores Howes and husband Don.
Memorials in Wanda's name may directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
