Walters, Karleene Rene
CEDAR RAPIDS - Karleene Rene Walters, 41, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Oct, 12, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Chaplain Kim Vogel of Hospice of Mercy will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Brian; children, Corey Spencer and Heather Walters, both of Cedar Rapids; her father, Standlee Spencer and wife Sherry of El Centro, Ccalif.; her mother, Marleen Spencer of Albuquerque, N.M,; a brother, Sam Spencer of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Samantha Spencer of Ada, Okla.; her stepmother; her father-in-law, Don Walters and wife Donna of Cedar Rapids; and her mother-in-law, Rose Walters of Palo.
Karleene Rene Walters was born June 8, 1969, in Ada, Okla., the daughter of Standlee B. and U. Marleen (Cumiford) Spencer. She was united in marriage to Brian C. Walters on May 4, 1991, in Coronado, Calif., at the North Island Naval Air Station. She was currently employed as a trainer at Thomas L. Cardella & Associates.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Malta Chapter and the International Order of Rainbow for Girls Cedar Rapids Chapter.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend who will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Karleene's honor may be made to the memorial fund established in her name.
