Bennett
Walter W. Wiese, 80, formerly of Bennett and Tipton, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at 7:50 a.m. in the Mechanicsville Nursing & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will follow in Inland Cemetery, Bennett. Visitation for Walter will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, one hour before the funeral.
Walter was born July 11, 1933, in Bennett, Iowa, the son of Leroy Erwin and Ruth Caroline Miller Wiese. He was educated in the Bennett Schools and worked for Clinton Engine Co., Maquoketa, West Liberty Foods, West Liberty, and the Cheese Factory in Tipton.
Walter is survived by his children, Margo (Maggie) Michael, Bryant and Marie; sisters, Joyce Meier of Wilton, Carolyn Bunch of Fort Collins, Colo., and Lois (Keith) Whitlatch of Stanwood; brothers, Roger (Jane) Wiese and Warren Wiese, both of Bennett, and Frank Wiese of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harold.
Walter enjoyed fishing and attending flea markets.
