Walter D. "Walt" Moscrip, 65, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wis.
Walt was born Dec. 31, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Walter and Kathyrn (Kacer) Moscrip. He married Diane Theresa Pritzl in Rock Island, Ill. He had a full and happy life and was able to spend many years with his wife and best friend, Diane, who passed away in 2012. Walt will be joining Diane and other loved ones in Heaven and will be together forever.
Walt was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. He was employed as a chef for many years at the corporate office of Famous Footwear and later at Oakwood West. Walt loved reading about history and watching old movies. He also loved cooking and baking for families and friends.
Walt is survived by his daughter, Amber (Brian Makuski) Moscrip; his father, Walter "Bud" (Mary) Moscrip; his mother, Kathryn (Fred) Schindler; brother, Karl (Kathy) Moscrip; sister, Kim Moscrip; and other relatives and friends. He also is survived by his best friend, Magic, a long-haired Chihuahua.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Moscrip.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.
