Wallace “Wally” Chappell, 83, passed away early in the morning on April 14, 2025 at his home in Iowa City with his wife by his side.
Wally is survived by Karen Chappell, his loving wife of 60 years; cousins Phillip Glenn (Liliana), Christopher Glenn (Barbara) and Paul Glenn (Irene); sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kathleen and Anthony Ciervo. He is also survived by numerous extended family, friends and colleagues.
A Celebration of Wally’s life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Stanley Café in Hancher Auditorium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hancher Auditorium, Iowa City, to Riverside Theatre, Iowa City, or to any art organization of your choosing.
