Waite, Geroge
George Waite, 71, a resident of Living Center West, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: English River Township Cemetery, South English, Iowa, at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; brother, Bob Waite of Anamosa; nieces; nephews; and grandnieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Nancy Waite; and sister, Nancy Mockenhaupt.
Born Sept. 30, 1939, in Anamosa, Iowa, George was the son of George and Jean (Maring) Waite. He was united in marriage to Doris Sprague in Anamosa, Iowa, on Nov. 11, 1972. George worked in retail in stores in the Cedar Rapids area.
