Wagner, Marc Louis
Marc Louis Wagner, 73, of Coralville, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in Iowa City, with his family by his side. At his request, no service will be held.
Mr. Wagner was born July 15, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Edwin and Marie (Schueller) Wagner. He attended Dubuque Senior High School and served in the U.S. Army thereafter, including time served in Okinawa, Japan. He retired from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, in 2001. He enjoyed golf, bowling, watching westerns, feeding his squirrels and playing cards with his family. His sense of humor was razor-sharp, even in his final days.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; his brothers and their spouses, Edwin and Karl (Janet); and sisters, Virginia (Fred) Rohner and Dolly (George) Gates; his sons and their spouses Jeff, John (Danielle) and Nick (Barbara); foster daughter Tracey (Gary) Medinger; stepchildren, Jed (Janet) Figg and Julie (Mike) Vinson; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin; and mother, Marie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Iowa City Hospice, 1025 Wade St., Iowa City, IA 52240.
Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.
