Waggener, Eva
Eva Waggener, 90, of Walford, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Clover Ridge United Methodist Church by Pastor Mike Townsley. Burial: Linwood Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church, and again after
10 a.m. Friday. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Eva is survived by her sons, Wendell of Walford and Timothy of Shellsburg; daughter-in-law, Claudia Waggener of Shellsburg; nieces, Carla McDonald and Sandy Hanson of Fargo, N.D.; nephews, Tom Nelson of LaBarge Wyo., and Theryn Waggener of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Kimberly, Karla, Warren, Lisa, Chuck, Dennis (Bridgette), Krystal (Adam) and special grandson, Jerry; 16 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Jerry (Jan) Wisnousky Sr., John and Terri Skalsky, Edna Gorkow, and Mary Lou Stearns.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; brothers, Carl, Leonard, and Lloyd; sister, Norma; and infant twin brother, Fred.
Eva was born on Oct. 12, 1919, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Lloyd and Elsie M. Mefferd Nelson. She married Warren Waggener on March 22, 1939, in Cedar Rapids. She worked for 28 years for Amana Refrigeration, retiring in 1979. Eva was a member of Clover Ridge United Methodist Church. Eva enjoyed cooking, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren. Warren and Eva loved taking their stagecoach to parades.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Eva's name.
