Wade, Robert Lynn 'Bob'
Robert Lynn “Bob” Wade, 61, of Fort Madison, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at his home. He was born Sept. 27, 1949, at Sigourney, Iowa, a son of Francis and Marion (Long) Wade. On July 1, 1967, he married Rebecca Maresh at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Bob was an operations manager for Rockwell International in Cedar Rapids, for many years, retiring at age 50. In 2001, he moved to Fort Madison where he was co-owner and operator of Spring Lake Golf Club. He loved golfing, playing softball, fishing and playing cards. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 1287 and Fort Madison Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Wade, of Fort Madison; three sons, whom he considered to be the greatest accomplishment of his life, Brad (wife Shelly) Wade of Fort Madison, Mark Wade of Ankeny, and Matthew (wife Sheryl) Wade of Center Point; one brother, John (wife Nancy) Wade of Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Karen Allen of Houston, Texas, Micki (husband Jim) Keukenbaker of Franklin, Ga., and Meri Wade of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, Brianne, Kenneth, Taylor, Thomas, Tyler, Brady, Alyssa, Alex and Addilyn; aunts; uncles; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The body of Mr. Wade has been cremated. A Celebration of his Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Spring Lake Golf Club, 2048 303rd Ave., Fort Madison, Iowa.
