Vyskocil, Terri Lynn
Terri Lynn Vyskocil, 51, of Cedar Rapids, died at her home Sunday evening, June 2, 2013.Graveside Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Sisley Grove Cemetery, rural Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. David Phelps.Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Moomey-Vogel Post 727. Anyone planning to attend the graveside services is asked to meet at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, by 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Terri is survived by her sisters, Kerri Jared, Fishers, Ind., Julia Vyskocil, Cedar Rapids, and Jill Baker and husband Steve, Argyle, Texas; eight nieces and nephews, Jeromie Jared, Stephany Walters, Tiffany Morris, L.J. Mims, Christina Mims, Bobbi Mims, Danielle Baker and Stephen Baker II; one great-niece, Breonna; four great-nephews, A.J.,Makhi, Camren and Izaya; and her former husband, Mike Czajkowski of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard W. Vyskocil and Carolyn M. (Allen) Vyskocil Teach.
Terri was born April 19, 1962, in Cedar Rapids and was a 1980 graduate of Washington High School.She received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Spanish in 1986, and a Master of Science degree, with a major in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management in 1990, both from Iowa State University.
Terri entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1980, and transferred into the U.S. Army in 1982.She was honorably discharged in 2005 with the rank of captain.Throughout her career in the military, Terri received numerous decorations and honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, armed forces Reserve Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
Terri was a very kindhearted and gentle soul who will be missed by many people.She loved her cats, Buddy, Baby and Peter.Terri was a devout Christian whose suffering is now over as she rests in the arms of her beloved Lord.
Memorial contributions in Terri's name may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
