Vrba, John W.
John W. Vrba, 37, of Robins, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, in the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Memorial Services: 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Ed Thornton, where a visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and after 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
Survivors include his daughter, Maxine A. Vrba of Robins; his mother, Christine Vrba of Robins; a brother, Michael (Bonnie) Vrba of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Danelle A. (Stan Camic) Vrba of Cedar Rapids and Amanda D. Vrba (Derek Klinkenborg) of Cedar Rapids; and his uncles, Bill (Mary Kay) Vrba of Cedar Rapids, Steve (Mary) Scharfenberg of Cedar Falls and Martin Scharfenberg of Waterloo.
Also surviving are nephews, Jacob M. Vrba and Bradley J. Vrba; and a cousin, Scott (Lisa) Vrba.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael A. Vrba; and grandparents, John and Maxine Scharfenberg and Wilmer and Alice Vrba.
John was born Oct. 11, 1976, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Michael A. and Christine A. Scharfenberg Vrba. He was a plumber for J.P. Plumbing & Heating in Cedar Rapids. He loved his camper in Paradise Valley in McGregor, where he made many campfires and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He also enjoyed ATV riding, model RC boat, race cars and hunting and his dogs, Cloee and Minnie. John loved life to the fullest and never met a stranger. His passion was spending time with family, friends and treasured the time with his daughter Maxine.
John would want his family and friends to carry on. He had no regrets or tears. In honor of John, please wear casual attire.
