Voss, Viola 'Vi'
Viola “Vi” Voss, 96, died Friday, Aug. 23,2013, at Colonial Manor in Amana. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at St. John Catholic Church in Blairstown with Father Craig Steimel as Celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Patrick and St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, near Watkins. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown.
A memorial fund has been established.
Viola was born Aug. 29, 1916, at Norway, to Joseph A. and Clara C. (Leise) Schulte.
A long time member of St. John's Catholic Church in Blairstown, she served as the housekeeper at St. John's Rectory in Blairstown for many years. “Vi” also loved to play cards.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Voss of Sioux Falls, S.D.; her daughter, Carole (Al) Cerrato of Las Vegas, NEV.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and her brother, Lester Schulte of Amana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldo; her daughter, Bonita Schmidt; and her sister, Angela Schmidt.
