Voss, Beverly Ann
Beverly Ann Voss died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City at the age of 77 years.
She was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Jacob John and Pearl H. (Brumback) Schwab. She grew up in the Oxford area, lived in Cedar Rapids, Williamsburg and Parnell since 1965. She worked as a child care provider for almost 35 years, retiring in 2001. Beverly was formerly active with the Girl Scouts as a leader. She enjoyed being with family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, baking and doing crafts.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Debbie) Voss of Fresno, Calif., Debra Carter (Harold Hill Jr.) of Pinehurst, Texas, Cindy Schweitzer (Harold Handley Jr.) of Elberon, Nancy Alexander of Hiawatha, Pamela (Bret) Wetjen of Homestead, Jeff (Sharon) Voss of Nolanville, Texas and Jerry (Julie) Voss of North English; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Louine Dietze, Betty Jean Bragg, Hazel Livermore and Doris Folkers; and two brothers, Gary and Everett Schwab.
Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. The Rev. Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established for the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
