Voshell, Ethel E.
Ethel E. Voshell, 98, of Fayette, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette from natural causes. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at West Union Cemetery. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Fayette is in charge of arrangements.
Ethel was born the daughter of Edward H. and Mary Leistickow Neumann on Sept. 14, 1911, in Windsor Township of Fayette County, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Paul Voshell on Oct. 15, 1939, at Zion Lutheran Church in West Union. The couple farmed in the Fayette area for many years before moving to town in 1972. Mr. Voshell's death occurred on June 30, 1986.
Ethel is survived by three sons, Duane (Carolyn) Voshell of Cedar Rapids, Gary (Barb) Voshell of Peoria, Ariz., and Lowell (Theresa) Voshell of Fayette; four grandchildren, Allison and Josie Voshell, Valerie (Dominic) Giegerich and Anita (Josh) Davis; two great-grandchildren, Collin and Halie Giegerich; and one sister, Hazel (Bud) Jensen of West Union.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Neumann; and three sisters, Mildred Osmundson, Irene Dumermuth and Erma Neumann.
The family suggests memorials be given in her name to Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette.
