Von Ahsen, LuEtta Ruth
LuEtta Ruth Von Ahsen, of Grand Island, Neb., formerly of Williamsburg and Marion, was called peacefully to her heavenly home on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, ending her brave journey with diabetes and Alzheimer's disease. She had by her side members of her loving family and the caring staff of Golden Living Center, Lake View. She was 81 years old. Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
She is survived by a son, Tom (Marilyn) Von Ahsen of Wentzville, Mo.; six daughters, Sandy (Terry) Bricker of Grand Island, Neb., Joan White Crane of Billings, Mont., Kathy (Jay) Taylor of Mooresville, N.C., Patti (Mike) Colombo of Somers, N.Y., Teri (Herb) Skoog of Cedar Rapids and Monika Pavel of Seward, Neb.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice (Gerry) Olson of Denver, Colo., and Dorothy Freeland of Lima, Ohio.
