Vivian Nadine Gefaller, 98, passed away on February 20, 2026, in her home surrounded by family and loved ones. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 28, 2026, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Interment will be at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Nadine was born on September 29, 1927, in Urbana, IA to Earl and Jessie (Snyder) Fish. She was united in marriage to her long-time love and partner, Eugene Gefaller on June 27, 1947. Nadine and Eugene built a strong, loving home, life, and family and were inseparable for the 74 years they were married. They traveled extensively throughout the United States, with her brother, Cecil and his wife, Erma. Nadine loved to spend summers in Minnesota, sharing time in the lake, playing cards, picking strawberries, and enjoying her family. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing dominoes, gardening, and watching birds.
Vivian’s legacy will be continued by her daughter, Joyce Fowler and her husband, Tim and Ron Gefaller and his wife, Luisa; grandchildren, Angela Fowler, Brad Fowler and his wife, Victoria; great-grandchildren; Camden and Luna.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Jesse; her husband, Eugene; brother Cecil (Erma); sister, Darlene (Clare); and eight brothers- and sisters- in-law.
