VIRTUS REILING Clarence Virtus G. Reiling, 85, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at his home in Clarence. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Calvary Foursquare Church, 1100 N. Highway 38, Tipton. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at the church. Virtus George Reiling was born March 11, 1931, in Massilon, Iowa, to George and Viola (Timm) Reiling. He married Joanne Murphy on April 25, 1953, in Toronto, Iowa. He was a member of American Legion in Clarence and VFW Post, Tipton. He attended Calvary Foursquare Church. He served as a Marine from 1950 to 1953 and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. He owned and operated Tipton Locker Service from 1967 to 1999. He owned and operated a milk hauler for the Dayton Creamery, Clarence, from 1962 to 1967. He also operated two other lockers in Bennett and Lowden. He never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. Survivors include his wife, Joanne, Clarence; his children, Rhonda and Bob Paul, Tipton, Mark Reiling, Cedar Rapids, and Susan and Mark Johnson, Tipton; four grandchildren; sisters, Norma Sheldon, Elaine McCormick and Gloria Kagemann of DeWitt; and brothers, Kenneth Reiling, Ocean Springs, Miss., Roland Reiling, Wheatland, and Larry Reiling and Wayne Reiling, both of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Karen Reiling, Phyllis Weiland and Fern Bauer; and brother, LaVern Reiling.
