Virginia Gay Zieser (Ellis), 52, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at home on July 28, 2015. A memorial service will be held Monday Aug. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Best Western Plus, Longbranch, at 90 Twixt Town Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids.
Virginia was born on July 12, 1963, to her mother, Karen Grahm (Fritz), and father, Otis Ellis, in Iowa City. She was a caring and loving person. Virginia cherished spending time with family and friends, and her dog, Bella. Her son, Mitchell, was her life's joy. Virginia enjoyed traveling, doing arts and crafts and collecting fans, wind chimes and butterflies. Her door was always open and she was a true caretaker.
She is survived by her son, Mitchell (Duane) Foster; sisters, Wanda Crowder and April Grahm; nephews, Josh and Zach; and lifelong friends, Judy Hazlett and Twila Arntz.
Virginia is now with her mother, grandmother and beloved dog, Zoey, in heaven. She will be truly and deeply missed among everyone who knew her.
