VIRGINIA SORENSEN

Virginia Sorensen, 79, of Marion, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville.
Survivors include her two sons, Dennis of Marion and Brad of Anaheim Hills, Calif.; and two sisters, Carol of Cedar Rapids and Linda of Mechanicsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Charles.
Virginia was born on May 9, 1937, to Clarence and Alma McCaughey. On June 3, 1957, she married Robert Sorensen. Virginia was employed by Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for approximately 37 years. Virginia loved her animals. She spent countless hours taking care of those and many others.
