Virginia Schrimper, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, joining her beloved husband, Eldon, in eternal life. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery, Hiawatha.
Survivors include her daughters, Rita (James) Ramsey of Glendale, Ariz., and Karen (Gregory) Ramstead of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Ruthann Lundering of Phoenix, Ariz., Rhonda (Marcus Hobert) Weintz of Clive, Iowa, and Angela (Edwin) Walker of Marshfield, Mo.; and grandsons, Nicholas, Clayton and Connor Ramstead, all of Cedar Rapids.
Virginia was born May 21, 1929, in Belle Plaine, Iowa. On June 26, 1949, she married Eldon Schrimper in Davenport. Virginia was a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell for many years. She loved music, especially singing and playing her guitar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association.
