Virginia Ruth Weaver, 92, of Marion, died Friday April 28, 2023, in her home. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday May 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where a visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry J. Weaver Sr.; her children, Edward F. Slager (Patricia) of Miami, Fla., David C. Slager (Barbara) of Mount Vernon, Iowa; her sister, Edna Shutt of Dysart, Iowa; five grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a niece and nephews; and her stepchildren, Jerry J. Weaver Jr., of Chatan, N.J., and Kimberly Weaver of St. Paul, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Carroll E. Slager; her sisters, Hellen Porter and Leona Thombson of Belle Plaine Iowa.
Virginia was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Delphia (Swagert) Porter. She married Jerry John Weaver Jan. 5, 1996, in Marion, Iowa. Virginia Was an assembly inspector for Rockwell Collins and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
