Virginia R. Joslin, 78, of Marion, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024. Visitation will take place Friday, January 26, 2024, 5:00-7:00 pm, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, 11:00 am, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Virginia was born December 26, 1945, to Norman and Dorothy (Koch) Techau. She obtained an Accounting degree from Kirkwood Community College and served as an Accountant at United Way for 25 years. She married James Joslin on May 5, 1989.
She was as stubborn as they come but she had a heart of gold and wouldn’t hesitate to help others. Even in times of struggle, you would never hear her complain. She enjoyed bingo, fishing, gardening, crafts, sewing, and genealogy.
Virginia is survived by her children, Donald Schooley and Dianna (Robert) Lahue; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tony) Armstrong, Christopher (Georgia) Walker, Ayla (Jamie) Walker, Devin (Robin) Schooley, Katie (Jacob) Ingalls, Andrea (John) Bray, Caleb Schooley, Ashlyn Schooley, Arlana Schooley, Savannah Schooley, Ian Schooley; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; sons, David Schooley and Dan Schooley; parents, and 2 siblings.
