Virginia Mae Creger, 100, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away Monday, January 27, 2025. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Virginia was born on February 3, 1924, in Findlay, Ohio to Wilbur and Cleo Kelley. She was raised in Ohio, Indiana, and Missouri before moving to Cedar Rapids when she was fifteen. She graduated from McKinley High School.
She was united in marriage to John Munson, and from this union her first three children were born. They later divorced and then married Robert Greenlee and they added two daughters to the family.
Virgina had a strong work ethic and held various jobs while raising her five children, which included Killian’s Department Store, Collins Radio, and later retired from Kwik Way Manufacturing.
She had many interests including bowling, gardening, reading, puzzles, and was a very talented artist. She loved traveling when she got the chance.
She was able to remain in her own home with her youngest daughter Phyllis being her primary caregiver.
Virginia is survived by her children, Karen (Bill) Driscoll, Mike Greenlee, John (Steve) Greenlee, and Phyllis Greenlee (Ray Jones); grandchildren, Brian Hamos, Chad Greenlee, Colby Greenlee, Demetrius Fleetwood, Desiree Fleetwood, Davina Fleetwood, Donya Fleetwood, DeMarcus Fleetwood, and Dazsa Fleetwood; twenty-six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Davis Creger, and her daughter Susan Fleetwood.
