Virginia Lee Zahn, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in hospice care on June 1, 2021, after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. June 10 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with burial at Cedar Memorial. The Rev. Phil Jorgensen will officiate.
Virginia was born Dec. 6, 1928, in West Union, Iowa, to Leroy and Margaret (Fox) Cline. She married Horst Zahn on Oct. 29, 1951. They resided in Cedar Rapids and had three children. She worked as a nurse and later as a buyer for the Kirkwood Community College bookstore. Virginia was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and enjoyed activities with the XYZ group. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family.
Survivors include Thomas (Rebecca) Zahn, Annette Titera and David (Suzanne) Zahn; grandchildren, Bianca (James) Turner, Trever (Shelly) Zahn and Brogan Zahn; and great-grandchildren, Jameson and Parker Turner and Leah, Emery and Lorelai Zahn.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Horst Zahn; and five siblings, Alfred Cline, Grace Davis, Florence Myers, Margaret Gibson and William Cline.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 3635 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids.
