Virginia J. Lewis, 88, of Hiawatha, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Sunday, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior at 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel Stateroom. Private burial will be the following day at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Virginia was born March 26, 1930, in Hardy, Neb., to Ira Everett and Ruth Stenson. After graduating from Hardy High School, she attended the University of Nebraska, where she met the love of her life, who happened to be the brother of her roommate. On June 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Wayne A. Lewis in Hardy, Neb. They lived and loved together for 65 years before he went on ahead to heaven.
Virginia is survived by her three daughters, Ann (Bruce) Erickson of Sandy, Utah, Denise (Scot) Osborne of Tucson, Ariz., and June (Kent) Reeves of Marion, Iowa; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents; and one brother, Willard Stenson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Cedar Rapids, 1622 42nd St. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
