Virginia "Ginger" Sebetka, of rural Walker, Iowa, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, in her home with her husband by her side due to cancer and COPD. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at First Assembly of God Church, Cedar Rapids. Interment: Dunkard Cemetery, near Toddville, Iowa.
Ginger is survived by her husband of 40 years, Vernon; children, Kimberly (Ray) Ditano and Kristina McGrew, both of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Kevin McGrew of Greer, S.C.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paula Ashbacher, Jerry (Marilyn) Enos, Keith Enos and Paul (Karen) Enos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen Zerba; and brothers, Kevin, Bruce, Duane and Dale.
Ginger was born on Sept. 1, 1947, in Hurley, S.D., the daughter of Paul and Gladys (Baker) Enos. She married Vernon Sebetka on June 3, 1978. Ginger loved her family and, most of all, she loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. When she was no longer able to attend services, she became a media member of Family Worship Center and worshipped from home. Ginger was a very kind and giving person who enjoyed helping others. She also enjoyed her walks with nature on the local trails.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Hospice of Mercy staff for their loving care of Ginger.
A memorial fund has been established in Ginger's name.
