Virginia Byrne, 96, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Sunday, May 1, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Virginia was born Virginia Mae Anderson in West Branch, Iowa. She moved to Cedar Rapids, where she met her husband, Robert W. Byrne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and a daughter, Patricia.
Survivors include her two daughters, Pamela Heuton of Porter, Ind., and Sandra (Merle) Schieffer of Des Moines; a son, Rob (Maryann) Byrne of Sugar Land, Texas; 11 grand-children; eight great-grand-children; and a sister, Marian (Earl) Eckmann of Persia, Iowa.
Virginia was a longtime member of Asbury Methodist Church.
