Virgil Thompson, 84, of Monona, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a 3:30 p.m. parish rosary, at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona. Visitation also will be one hour before Mass time at the church on Wednesday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Monona. The Rev. Nils de Jesus Hernandez and the Rev. Robert Levenhagen will concelebrate. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Monona.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the St. Patrick Catholic Church Building Fund. Condolences may be left with www.graufuneralhomes.com.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Thompson, Monona; five children, Jean (Bruce) Glen-Walker, Panama City, Fla., Larry (Liane) Thompson, Monona, James Thompson, Monona, Mary (Robert) Sass, Luana, and Jackie Thompson (Ron Cosby), Madison, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; and 20
great-grandchildren.
